The British Virgin Isles, or Islands, are a stunning archipelago of green mountainous islands surrounded by the iridescent blue of the Caribbean Sea.

The British Overseas Territory, with it’s capital on Tortola (the largest and most populous of the islands) is democratically run, with a British governor overseeing matters of national security, defense and good governance.

Largely unspoiled, and far less developed than major tourist destinations, the British Virgin Islands maintain a quiet charm and relaxed luxuriousness that is getting harder and harder to find in todays busy world.

The majority of the tourism on the islands is yacht based. It is one of the finest sailing grounds in the world with numerous sheltered anchorages, stunning yachts (crewed or bareboat, motor or sail) to charter, excellent restaurants and bars, excellent food provisioning (thanks to the relatively close proximity to the USA), and no end of activities to keep a visitor amused for a week or two in the sun.

For those not so keen on sleeping on a boat, there is a fantastic choice of lodgings, including some reasonably priced hotels, modest holiday homes, stunning luxurious villas, or even whole private islands like Necker Island, Peter Island, Guana Island and Little Thatch.
